When Kristy decided to join Sisters in Shape it was because she was looking for something different – a new approach. She had already gone down just about every diet and fitness route available and wasn’t seeing the results she desired. Having been a follower of her SiS coach Christie Nix for a while on social media, she reached out to her to learn what it would take to get started with personal trainer.
For Kristy, it wasn’t that she had never worked out before. She was working out with her husband already, but the problem for Kristy was that they were doing the same routine that her husband had been doing for years. While it might have been working for him, it wasn’t what Kristy needed to reach her goals and find that fit lifestyle she knew she could accomplish. She reached out to her now SiS online personal trainer, signed up, and has been a SiS member since April 2016.
Kristy loves being part of SiS because of the power she finds in having an online trainer by her side. With someone cheering her on who is fitness minded, and able to provide advice when she needs it, or a new routine to get her motivated and moving forward, Kristy is seeing results. One of the most powerful benefits she’s discovered? She’s getting stronger each week! When Kristy first began working out with SiS she wasn’t able to do a traditional pushup, but now she’s knocking those out of the park. She’s also able to run – something that made her realize just how powerful her time with Sisters in Shape has been.
Kristy’s online SiS trainer had tried to get her to run in the past, but Kristy said she could not do it. She really did not believe running was for her. Then came Thanksgiving 2016. Kristy went to the gym with her husband and when they arrived she suddenly thought about running. With her newfound strength, new workout shoes, and some serious motivation, she decided to get on the treadmill. Before she knew it, she had run 4.75 miles and she felt strong and confident.
One of the best things about being with SiS is that her online trainer encourages her to get stronger. She also understands where Kristy is coming from as a military spouse, and can encourage her through the busy lifestyle that comes with going through deployments, moving around, and a hectic schedule. Most of all, Kristy appreciates how her coach pushes her to get stronger. She recalls a time when her coach encouraged her to find a gym that offered an Olympic 45 lb. bar so she could continue to push herself to new levels.
“She encourages people to believe in themselves the way she believes in them. And guess what, she is right! I am stronger than I thought I was. I was letting fear get in the way.” ~Kristy
To those thinking about joining SiS Kristy says just do it! If you think about it, whether you join or not, this year is going to pass by. You might as well spend it getting stronger, healthier, and more confident in yourself.
