I am a Coast Guard spouse and mother of two, originally from Alaska but currently residing in Virginia. My passion for fitness and health developed after I had kids and found myself in a body that I didn’t recognize, that was holding me back from things I wanted to do, both physically and emotionally. My confidence had disappeared, and I was struggling with my new “mom” identity. I found fitness as an outlet, and something that I could challenge myself with.
Through my own transformation, I’ve learned a lot about what works, and what does not. It became my mission to be a champion for other women who were looking to change themselves for the better and live life better. I started a group fitness business where I enjoyed teaching classes for three years. I’ve coached women through various online fitness programs and bootcamps, and have recently been training in person clients at a local gym for the past year.
My approach to nutrition is to meet people where they are, but ultimately move towards as clean and natural of a diet as possible for both short term goals as well as life-long health and longevity. I’m an athlete at heart, competing in distance running races a few times per year. In addition to running “all the miles”, my own personal fitness style is a combination of strength training and hiit workouts, with phases of yoga and cycling classes when needed.
My goal here with SiS is to help my running clients train for their best performance by addressing all of their needs to become a better athlete, combining smart nutrition, strength training, and a customized running plan.
